The Roman Peace (pax romana)

The period between 27 BCE and 180 CE is called the “Roman Peace” (pax romana). It stands as a remarkable time of peace and stability for the Roman Empire, marked by secure internal trade, rising population, and the absence of major border conflicts. Internal peace and security greatly assist in the rapid diffusion of Christian concepts and the work of missionaries. Roman roads reach their peak of expansion at around 53,000 miles.
