Apostle and Saint

After Jesus died, James took over the leadership of the movement. James was a devout Jew with a strong belief in the Torah and the importance of traditional Mosaic Law. He was opposed to watering down or eliminating the requirements of Mosaic Law in order to attract Gentiles.
